Niger oil is not a mass-market product. It is a North Karnataka product. If you grew up on jolada rotti, you already know what it should smell like, and you already know the bottle in most shops is not it.

What it is for

Ennegayi. Chutney podi. Tempering for saaru. Drizzled over jolada rotti the way it has been for generations. Its slightly nutty, earthy depth is the specific taste of North Karnataka cooking — which is exactly why a national brand optimising for Delhi and Mumbai has no reason to press it.

We do, because our seed comes from farmers here and our customers cook this food.

How it is made

Locally sourced niger seed, crushed slowly in a wooden gaana. No heat, no hexane, no refining, no bleaching. Small batches, so it reaches you fresh rather than out of a warehouse.

How to tell it is real
