That is not nostalgia playing tricks. It is deodorising — a 200°C steam process that strips the aroma out of refined sesame oil, along with the sesamol and sesamin that made it worth eating.

We skip that step. Ours smells the way you remember.

How it is made

Selected sesame, crushed slowly in a wooden gaana. No heat applied, no solvent, no refining. What comes out is dark, strong and unmistakably sesame. A little goes a long way — this is not a neutral factory oil and it was never meant to be.

Check it yourself when it arrives

Hold it to the light — it should be rich brown-gold, never pale. A little sediment at the bottom is a good sign, not a bad one. It means nobody filtered the character out.
