Most sunflower oil on the shelf has been through hexane extraction, bleaching clay and a 200°C steam bath. It comes out pale, odourless and stripped of the Vitamin E that was in the seed. Ours skips all of it.

How it is made

Sunflower seed crushed slowly in a wooden gaana. No external heat, no solvent, no refining. Just pressing and filtering — the way it was done before factories decided shelf life mattered more than the person eating it.

What it is for

Everyday sauteing, tempering, light frying and dressings. For sustained deep frying, our groundnut or coconut oil holds up better — sunflower is higher in polyunsaturated fat, which oxidises faster under repeated heat. We would rather tell you that than sell you the wrong bottle.
