We get asked some version of this question most weeks: why does it take a few days before my oil even leaves, and why can I not pay when it arrives? Both have straight answers, and neither of them is flattering in the way marketing copy usually is. Here is what actually happens between you clicking the button and a bottle reaching your kitchen.
Why nothing ships the same day
We press in small batches. That is not a slogan; it is a consequence of making unrefined oil. Nothing is bleached, deodorised or preserved, so what is left in the oil — the colour, the smell, the vitamin E, the flavour compounds from the seed — is also what makes it perishable. A warehouse full of bottles slowly losing freshness is the thing we are trying to avoid, so we do not keep deep stock sitting around.
The practical effect is that your order is pressed, filled and packed within 2–3 business days of being placed. That window is real work, not a buffer we padded for safety: cleaning and sorting seed, slow pressing, letting the oil settle by gravity rather than forcing it through industrial filtration, then a simple filter and bottling. Our process page walks through all six steps if you want the detail.
The honest trade-off: a refined oil brand can ship from a warehouse in hours because its product is built to sit. Ours is not. You wait two or three extra days at the start in exchange for oil that was pressed this month rather than last season.
The three delivery speeds
Once your order is packed, you have already chosen how fast it travels:
- Free delivery — 7 to 14 days. Fine if you are restocking before you run out.
- Standard, ₹49 — 3 to 7 days. The one most customers pick.
- Express, ₹99 — 1 to 3 days. Worth it when there is a date involved.
Add the packing window to the transit window and you have your real answer. Free delivery on an order placed today can mean oil in your hand two and a half weeks from now. If you are buying for a habba, a wedding or a naming ceremony, do the arithmetic before you choose free, or pick express and stop worrying. We would rather say that plainly than let you find out by waiting.
Why every order is prepaid
All orders are prepaid, paid online at checkout. There is no version of this where you pay later.
The reason is the same small-batch reason as above. When an order is placed, oil gets pressed and bottled against it. A refused parcel is not a bottle that goes back on a shelf — it is a bottle that has already spent days in transit, in heat, with its clock running, and that we would not want to send to the next customer. Prepaid keeps that from happening, and it keeps the cost of it out of everyone else's price. Smaller operations that take payment on delivery usually carry the cost of refusals somewhere in the price, which is to say their other customers pay for it.
Which size to order, given all of this
Since you are waiting anyway, order the size your kitchen will finish. Across every oil, from groundnut oil upward, the 5 L can and the 15 L tin work out to the same rate per litre as the 500 ml and 1 L bottles — there is no bulk discount and no bulk premium, so the only question is consumption, not value. We ask you to use an opened bottle within three to six months, so buy against that rather than against the shipping cost. Bottle, steel can or 15 L tin compares the packs properly, and the full range shows what each oil comes in.
Where we deliver
We deliver to every city and town in Karnataka — all thirty-one districts — and ship across India. Several cities have their own page with local taluk lists and cooking notes, including Ballari, Mysuru and Bengaluru. The Karnataka delivery page has the full district list and terms.
Distance matters at the margins. An order to Mysuru or Mandya generally lands at the fast end of whichever window you chose; an order to Ballari, Kalaburagi or Vijayapura tends toward the slow end. Same packing time, longer road.
Questions
How long will my order actually take?
Packing takes 2 to 3 business days. Add 1 to 3 days for express, 3 to 7 for standard, or 7 to 14 for free delivery.
Can I pay when the parcel arrives?
No. Every order is prepaid online at checkout.
Can I get it faster if I ask?
Express at ₹99 is the fastest we offer. The 2 to 3 day packing window is pressing and bottling time, so it is not something a request can shorten.
Does a 15 L tin cost more to ship than a bottle?
No. The three delivery options are priced the same whatever the size of the order.
Do you deliver outside Karnataka?
Yes, we ship across India. Delivery times at the far end of the country sit at the slower end of each window.
