Cold Pressed Oil delivered to Udupi

Udupi is the one district in Karnataka where coconut oil is not a choice but a default. The sambar has coconut in it, the chutney has coconut in it, the palya has coconut in it — and for generations the oil in the pan came from the same tree. Walk through Malpe, Kundapura or Car Street and the smell of a hot kadai is coconut oil, not refined anything.

We press cold pressed oils in Karnataka from seed bought directly from Karnataka farmers, and deliver across Udupi district — the city itself, plus Kaup, Brahmavar, Kundapura, Byndoor, Karkala and Hebri.

Which oil suits Udupi cooking

An honest map, not a sales list.

  • Everything coastal — Udupi sambar, coconut-based palya, neer dosa accompaniments, pathrode, kotte kadubu. Cold pressed coconut oil (kobbari enne). When the masala is already coconut, an unrefined coconut oil sits inside the flavour instead of fighting it. Refined coconut oil has had that smell deliberately stripped out.
  • Goli baje, halasina kayi and balekayi chips, a Malpe fish fry. Coconut oil if you want the coastal taste; cold pressed groundnut oil (kadalekai enne) if you are frying a large quantity in one sitting. Groundnut oil is high in monounsaturated fat, which makes it relatively heat stable, so it takes a long hot fry more comfortably than a light seed oil.
  • Oggarane, gojju, uppinakayi. Cold pressed sesame oil (ellenne). The smell is the entire point of it, and it is the oil that disappears most completely from supermarket shelves once it has been deodorised.
  • Everyday cooking where the vegetable should lead. Cold pressed sunflower oil — mild, content to stay in the background, and a sensible second bottle for households that do not want coconut in every dish.
  • Hair and skin. Coconut oil for a regular oil bath, and cold pressed castor oil (haralenne) diluted into it rather than used neat.
  • The pooja room. Deepam oil for daily lamps, and for Deepavali and Karthika masa — which matters in a district that keeps as many lamps lit as this one does.

One practical note for Udupi specifically: coconut oil solidifies below about 24°C. In this district that is rarely a problem, but if a bottle ever turns cloudy or firm it has not spoiled — stand it in warm water and it comes back.

If you are weighing one oil against another, which oil for which dish goes through it properly, and which oil for which job covers the whole range in one place.

Why you can check us rather than trust us

Our FSSAI licence number is 1122632300006, printed on every label and verifiable on the FSSAI FoSCoS portal — we have written up how to do that. Seed is bought directly from Karnataka farmers and crushed slowly in a wooden gaana at low temperature. No hexane, no bleaching, no deodorising, no preservatives, no blending — the full list of what we will not do is public. Our range is rated 4.65 out of 5 across more than 8,600 customer reviews.

Coconut oil is also one of the most adulterated oils sold in India, usually cut with cheaper palm or refined oil. There is a two-hour test you can run at home with a glass and a refrigerator, and we have written up that one and four others. Run them on ours.

Because the oil is unrefined it looks darker, smells stronger and can leave a little sediment. That is normal, and we explain exactly why.

Frequently asked questions

Do you deliver cold pressed oil to Udupi?
Yes — to Udupi city, Manipal and Malpe, and across the district, including Kundapura, Byndoor, Karkala, Kaup, Brahmavar and Hebri.

How long does delivery to Udupi take?
Orders are packed in 2–3 business days. After that, free delivery takes 7–14 days, standard (₹49) takes 3–7 days and express (₹99) takes 1–3 days.

Which coconut oil do you sell — is it the cooking kind or the hair kind?
It is one oil, unrefined and edible, and Udupi households have always used it for both. Cold pressed coconut oil is fine for cooking, for an oil bath and for hair.

My coconut oil has gone solid. Has it spoiled?
No. Coconut oil solidifies below about 24°C. Stand the bottle in warm water and it liquefies again with no change to the oil.

Which oil should I use for goli baje and jackfruit chips?
Coconut oil for the coastal taste. If you are frying a large batch in one go, groundnut oil is the more heat stable choice.

How do I pay?
All orders are prepaid, paid online at checkout.

Is the oil FSSAI certified?
Yes. Licence 1122632300006, printed on every label and verifiable on the FSSAI FoSCoS portal.
