Why Our Product Pages Talk You Out of Things

A product page is meant to sell the product. Ours regularly does the opposite. Open our sunflower oil and it tells you to use groundnut instead if you are deep frying. Open a combo pack and the first question in the FAQ is whether you are saving money, answered: no. None of that is an accident.

The sunflower page sends fryers to a different bottle

Our cold pressed sunflower oil page says plainly that for a long, hot deep fry — a full batch of bondas, chakli or vadas — you should reach for our groundnut or coconut oil instead. The reason is in the fat. Sunflower is higher in polyunsaturated fat, which breaks down faster when oil is held hot for a long stretch. Groundnut oil is high in monounsaturated fat and holds up better in a kadai.

The sesame and niger pages do the same thing. Ellenne and huchchellu enne are flavour oils, used in small quantities for ogarane, saaru, pickles, chutney podi, or a drizzle over jolada rotti. Pour either into a deep kadai and you are spending the better part of ₹520 a litre to lose the one thing you bought it for. Saying so costs us a sale on that page. Not saying so costs us the customer.

The combo packs are priced at exactly the sum of their parts

We sell four combo packs, and not one of them is a rupee cheaper than buying the bottles separately. The arithmetic is on each pack’s own page:

  • Adige Jodi, ₹780 — 1 L groundnut at ₹360 plus 1 L sunflower at ₹420.
  • Oota Trio, ₹1,400 — ₹360 plus ₹520 plus ₹520.
  • Kutumba Pack, ₹2,270 — 5 L groundnut at ₹1,750 plus 1 L coconut at ₹520.
  • Habba Pack, ₹1,110 — ₹520 plus ₹310 plus ₹280.

A combo saves you the choosing and the second order, not money. If you only want one of the oils in a pack, buy that one on its own; you will not pay more per bottle for it. We could have padded the individual prices and called the pack a saving. We would rather you add it up yourself and find that it holds.

The 15 litre tin is not a bulk deal either

Across every oil we press, the 15 L tin works out at the same rate per litre as the 5 L. Groundnut: ₹1,750 for 5 L and ₹5,250 for 15 L — ₹350 a litre either way. So take the tin for fewer deliveries and fewer refills, not for a further discount. And because unrefined oil is best finished within three to six months of opening, the bigger tin is actively the wrong buy for a kitchen that will not get through it in that time. What you are actually paying for across bottles, steel cans and tins goes through this in detail.

The castor oil page argues with its own category

Castor oil is sold across the internet on the promise of hair growth. Our page carries a paragraph headed what it does not do: it will not regrow hair where the follicle has stopped working, it does not treat pattern hair loss, and for sudden or significant hair loss it tells you to see a dermatologist. It also tells you to dilute it. That paragraph is there because a customer who buys on a promise nobody can keep will reasonably conclude we were lying about the rest too.

Why we write them this way

Two reasons, neither especially noble. A bottle bought for the wrong job comes back as a complaint, a refund, or a household that quietly goes back to the refined bottle. And we are a small operation selling an expensive product by post, so the only thing we really have is whether the page can be checked. Our FSSAI licence number, 1122632300006, is on every label and verifiable on the FSSAI FoSCoS portal. Our prices are on the product pages and you can add them up. Our rating is 4.65 out of 5 across more than 8,600 reviews, quoted with the count attached so you can judge it.

The same goes for the words on everyone else’s labels: knowing what filtered, ghani and cold pressed actually mean at the mill is more use to you than anything we could claim about ourselves.

We deliver to every city and town in Karnataka, Mysuru included, and ship across India. Browse the full range of cold pressed oils and buy the one that suits the cooking you actually do.

Frequently asked questions

So which oil should I actually buy?

Groundnut if you fry; coconut for coastal cooking, tempering and the longest, hottest frying; sunflower or safflower for lighter everyday cooking; sesame and niger as flavour oils in small quantities. Which oil for which job sets out the whole range bottle by bottle.

Do you ever run a discount?

There is no standing discount, and the combo packs are not one. The lowest rate per litre we offer is the 5 L, which the 15 L tin matches rather than beats. So buy the largest size your kitchen will finish within three to six months of opening — and no larger.

How quickly will an order reach me?

Orders are packed in 2–3 business days. Free delivery takes 7–14 days, standard shipping is ₹49 (3–7 days) and express is ₹99 (1–3 days). All orders are prepaid, paid online at checkout.
